Gordon retired in 1997 from a career in
marketing and advertising.
At the time of retirement, he was director of marketing and
advertising for the Lucas Dealership Group, Inc., a large auto
company with dealerships throughout the
San Francisco
Bay area and
Hawaii.
He met his wife, the former Judy
Oclassen, at Kenmore Junior High in 1952, and they married in
1957. They have a
daughter, Lorraine Timmons, who is a homemaker and has raised five
children (his and hers).
Son, Dean, father of two daughters, was an executive chef who
died 4/8/03. Their son, Mark, has one
daughter, and is a drywall and framing estimator. They also have five great
grandchildren.
Gordon has served with the Tuolumne
County Sheriff’s Department as a volunteer in their community
service unit. During
that five year period, he served as assistant executive director and
assisted in their patrol unit, emergency response team and boat
patrol. It was with the
boat patrol unit where he and his fellow
volunteers, received special commendation from the
director of the FBI. Other volunteer work included serving on
the board of directors for their local Twain Harte Homeowner’s
Association and the Twain Harte Lake Association. He is currently a copy
editor and journalist for the Sierra Mountain Times, a local weekly
newspaper which can be viewed on line at
sierramountaintimes.com.
Gordon does a lot of volunteer work in their little mountain
community of Twain Harte, which is located three hours east of
San Francisco and one
hour from Yosemite
National Park in the
foothills of the Sierra
Mountains.
Hobbies are golf, desk top
publishing (he produces several monthly newsletters for local
groups), painting, specializing in dog portraits, and
