Allana (Jeanne) writes that she has four
sons and four grandchildren.
Her son, Marco, a professional engineer living in
Williamsville,
NY, is married to Terry, a CFO at
a school for special children.
They have two daughters; Sara (15), an accomplished oboe
player, and Elizabeth (12), whose specialty is soccer. Son, Dana, a musician –
guitarist who plays in bands and teaches music, is married to
Barbara, a senior editor at Reader’s Digest – Select Edition
Division, and they live in South
Salem, NY. Her son, Ian, an airport
operations manager living in Groton,
MA, is married to Barbara, the
chief editor of a trade magazine. They have two children;
Callie (9), a voracious reader and Kieran (2), an active two year
old. Her 4th
son, Gino, a video technician and editor with Lifetime TV, resides
in Astoria, NY with his wife, Robin, who is a photographer and works
for Getty Images in NYC.
Jeanne was married 7/2/55, four days after
graduation from KHS to Ricardo Scofidio, class of ’52. They divorced in 1979. At that time, she was
working for Arco Publishing as an editor. Then she became a secretary
at Olivetti Corp. and started on a ten year long project of working
full time, raising children, running the household and going to
college part-time at night to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Business
Administration, concentration - Finance, graduating with
honors at age 51.
By then she was working for
IBM, where she continues working
to this day. At age 55,
Jeanne went back to night school to earn her Master’s Degree in
Business Administration – Finance, graduating again with honors at
age 60. She is now a
financial analyst (current nomenclature – Treasury Professional),
still working with IBM in their
Corporate Treasury Department.
Jeanne says her hobby is knitting
and she belongs to and is treasurer of the Westchester Knitting
Guild.
