Jewel is a retired teacher of children
with learning disabilities and for the past seven years, has worked
as an educational consultant and psychoeducational evaluator in the
Canandaigua
School District.
Dave, her husband of 48 years, is a
semi-retired manufacturing consultant. They have four children.
Dave Jr. PhD is a lab chief at NIH, lives in Maryland and has
three children; Kathy, Carrie, and Addie. Anne owns A Touch of Class
catering in Canandaigua and has three college age children; Cait,
Rob, and Nick. Chris is
an electrical engineer with two children; Taylor and Emma. They live in
Connecticut. Robert PhD, is an
entomologist/professor, living in Canandaigua with one child,
Arianna.
In 1997, it was an honor for Jewel
to be inducted into the National Women’s Hall of Fame for her work
in learning disorders.
She enjoys her family, reading groups, and
writing.
