Lyn became an RN in 1978 and worked in
psych nursing until she married “the love of her life”, John, in
1988. He was a Delta
Airlines pilot and they moved to
Griffin,
Georgia, where
they built a house in a fly-in community with his plane in the
hangar on their property.
She says, “What a fun and different lifestyle for us”. They moved to
Florida in 1995 to the
quiet town of New Smyrna
Beach where Lyn started taking art lessons and workshops and doing
publicity for the Artists’ Workshop for the local and Daytona
newspapers. They
retired in 2001, one month after 9/11, and have been enjoying life
in the warm and peaceful and sometimes exciting (the 2004
hurricanes) tropical climate.
Their house in
Georgia
allows them to fly back at least once a month to visit the kids and
grandkids. Lyn has
seven children and ten grandchildren. Her husband has two
children, one grandchild, and another on the way. She tells us, “They are all
wonderful people, have married the perfect life partner, and, of
course, have the most perfect children”. Most of them live in the
Atlanta area, except for
two that live in
Colorado and
St. Louis. John’s children live in
Alabama and
Jacksonville. |
