Patti tells us that at the end of her
junior year, she and her family moved to North
Buffalo, so she was forced to leave the Kenmore School
System. Although she
graduated from another school, she says,
“Kenmore is my alma mater”, and she looks
forward to attending our 50th reunion.
She married soon after
graduation. Pattie
shares with us that her first son, born prematurely, survived for
only four hours. She
has five other children; Cindy (47), residing in Darien, NY; U.S.
Army Colonel Jody Lynne (46), of Ft. Monroe, VA; Rolinda (43), of
Corfu, NY; Wendy (41), living in Rockford, IL; and Joseph (37), who
resides in Mazon, IL.
She is the proud grandmother of 14 grandchildren that keeps
her “young at heart”.
Patti says, “Life has been good to
me. I’ve had many very
different and exciting careers.” Among them are horse
rancher, Avon lady, inventory control clerk, customer service
manager, BBB regional manager and sales rep., ticket, gate, and
station agent for American Airlines at Reagan National Airport in
D.C., audiometric technician and instructor, houseparent and
behavior modification trainer for Mooseheart, counselor for
Promotions Plus, inventory auditor for
RGIS, census taker, nuclear
medicine technician, nanny, etc. She loved volunteering for
Crisis Line and Women’s Shelters. She also tells us she has a
passion for travel and has done so extensively. Among a few of the many
places she has been are Alaska, British Columbia, Jamaica, Aruba,
Hawaii and Mexico, and has, in fact, been in every state in the U.S.
except Colorado and North Dakota. In 1987, Patti got an
Associates degree in Human/Social Services. In October, 1999, she
received 10 gold medals, 4 second places, and 2 third places, plus
the trophy for Outstanding Female in the Tampa Bay Senior Olympic
Games. She says, “The
Physical Ed classes at Kenmore Junior and Kenmore Senior sure paid
off. Years of good old
Miss Kaufman’s training did it.” Patti adds, “I live alone in
Rockford and love having visitors, so call me and come on over. My coffee pot is always on
and I have an extra bedroom for company.”
